Former State Supreme Court Judge Endorses Jim Shaw for Hamburg Town Supervisor
HAMBURG, NY May 23, 2017 -- Endorsed Democratic candidate for Hamburg Town Supervisor, Jim Shaw, today announced support of his candidacy from former New York State Supreme Court Justice and Hamburg Town Supervisor, Leo J. Fallon. In making the announcement, Shaw noted the long-running professional and personal relationship the two have shared.
“Leo served as the Hamburg Town Supervisor from 1972 through 1981, the same time in which I served as chair of the town’s Democratic Party,” Shaw stated. “As a result, during this period we formed a longterm and productive working relationship. This continued as Leo was elected to the Supreme Court and designated as an Appellate Division Judge, as well as throughout my term as President of the Bar Association of Erie County. Today, of course, I am honored that Leo has endorsed me in my bid for Hamburg Town Supervisor, but I also consider his support reflective of the personal friendship we have enjoyed over so many years.”
During his terms as town supervisor, Fallon was acknowledged for his dedication to public service over politics. In delivering his endorsement of Shaw, the former justice acknowledged that same dedication.
“Jim has always acted as a person of great integrity and knowledge, whether representing the majority and minority membership of the Erie County Legislature, serving various village and school districts or leading fellow members of the bar association. He is dedicated to doing the right thing for the community above the, “politics as usual,” agenda. That dedication blended with Jim’s professional experience, makes him one of the most qualified candidates to ever run for Hamburg Town Supervisor.”
