Shaw Wins Democratic Primary with 75.7% of Vote
Last night, we took a huge step towards moving our town back to the values upon which it was founded; values of integrity, honesty, transparency and friendship. It is because of you that the Shaw for Supervisor campaign was able to deal a resounding defeat to our opponent, Dennis Gaughan, on the Democratic line.
I want to thank everyone who has worked so hard since last spring to ensure this victory. No doubt there have been some bumps along the way, but with your commitment to this campaign, we made it through and came out winners!
Thanks to everyone on the Shaw for Hamburg team and all the volunteers who signed postcards, made phone calls, canvassed the entire town of Hamburg (not once, but TWICE) and also blanketed our neighborhoods with Shaw for Supervisor lawn signs. Because of your efforts, momentum is in our favor, and our campaign is on a roll.
I would also like to thank the Erie County Democratic Party and its Chairman, Jeremy Zellner. In addition, a special thanks is owed to the Hamburg Democratic Committee and its Chairman, Terry MacKinnon, for their unwavering support of my candidacy; particularly during petition portion of this process.
I especially want to thank my two sons, Jim and Bryan, for all of their hard work and relentless dedication. I could not have envisioned doing this without them, and I am grateful for their support. Also, a special thanks to my wonderful daughter Kelly and my beautiful wife Donna, both of whom have supported me and this campaign every step of the way.
Last night was a major victory for all of us, but our job is far from done. We have seven weeks before the good people of Hamburg will once again exercise their right to vote and elect the next Supervisor of our great town. In that time, we must continue to move forward in sharing our message of integrity, honesty and bi-partisanship.
We are one step closer to bringing about real change to our community, and with your continued enthusiasm and effort, we will get there... together!
